I have been wondering,
How many people out there would like to join a minority corp. for ***, *******, Bisexual, Transgender pilots in EVE? (Straight Allies would be more than welcome, but homophobes, not so much.) I, myself, am getting annoyed by the rampant homophobia presented in many places within our galaxy and the gaming world as a whole. Sometimes, I would just like a place to relax and not worry about such things. All people of skill levels, jobs, and races would be welcome and we would operate just as any other corporation.
Input and opinions welcome. (No, not those types of opinions.) Thanks.

Myadra, what if I want to roleplay my character as g a y? It is a issue in-game. I've meet many people that use words about homosexuals in derogatory terms in-game. It's not so enjoyable when you have to put up with such a thing. It would be nice just to be able to relax.
Nebba, What is it that DICE and SNRA do?
Evil Pookie, I have no idea who FragM is.
Mazzilliu, that's the exact type of thing I'm trying to avoid.
Major hugs to Gothikia.

People please be civil. And back to the main point, would anyone out there want to join? Messages in-game are welcome too.
Nez, I've been doing Pandora's Box stuff since I was 16 yo. I can handle flamers and backlash.

To be honest, I cant see such a corp succeeding, even with the best intentions. Whereas if there was a website, or chat channel created in game where people may hang out and make friends amonst the eve community, It may have more long lasting friendships occur. Perhaps if roleplaying elements, and events were involved also, may actually be a lot of fun too.
I would suppose the corp would have the same odds of survival as any other new corp in game. Albeit, there is actually a willing particapants out there. And all major factions in EVE don't war dec us at once.

Originally by: RichThugster so if i created a corp that did all aspect of eve and took on all careers of ppl (miners, PVPers, NPCers, Traders ETC) and then refused ppl entry simply on the fact of them being ***/*******/bisexual/transgender, i would be flamed to hell and back. So why is it ok the other way round?
IMHO ppl can do what they want, so long as your not forced to watch, exactly the same for heterosexual couples. So my thinking would perhaps favour a separate entity like this, however its like saying white ppl and black ppl have different interests, they should form 2 different corps. Its nothing more than segregation.
Reread my original post and the subject line. Heterosexuals that support GLBT people would be more than welcome. People that could not behave civilly would not be. And segregation would be forced. This would not be. This would simply provide a safe haven from the now obvious pressures this topic is showing.

Originally by: Sharcy My guess is that most ppl with alternative lifestyles will choose to stay in mixed corps, as most often they'll have other platforms to interact with like minded/oriented ppl. So a chat channel might be more succesful, especially to start with; then, if real friendships and bonds start forming from chatting, maybe ppl will be more inclined to form up as a corp. Playing the game of EVE is why we're here foremost, after all.
I created a chat channel. Message me in-game for an invite. Or is there a way to make it open to all? Thanks.

Omg, you people.
This isn't some sort of EVE take over that will have us fighting over the rights a g ay and l esbian minmatar and gallentes being able to wed each other. This is a simple corporation. Probably small. With a few people who want to play their favorite video game. . . together. EVE is part of being in a community. This is just a part of that community getting together.
More than likely, we'd be in a seperate part of space, far from you. (EVE is really really big.) You'd probably never see us. You'd probably never here from us. We'd just be once of the black boxes with the ! that you never really look at as you jump through space on yet another long trip. The only people who this will truely affect are the people that might actually join.
So please calm down and relax. And remember my origanal question. Would anyone actually want to join?

Originally by: Sharcy Nez, if someone has issues with other ppl's religion, sexual preferences, race or language, they shouldn't be playing an MMOG in the first place, especially one with 1 central server.
And it says that where.. in the EULA? Hey I just looked at the EULA and it didnt mention anything of the kind.
Now what I do agree with is that even if you have problems with other ppl's religion, sexual preferences, race etc.... you behave yourself ingame and you don't bring it up.
However, if these issues are highlighted publicly like the OP is doing... then it becomes more difficult doesn't it? furthermore if the owner of the game approves of the displaying of such issues such as with a GLBT entity... then the person that has a problem with it.. is gonna have to make a deicision as to wether he will feel comfortable playing EVE at all.
I mean a GLBT merc corp could very well be making regular announcements on the CAOD forum... in the future. Its difficult to keep your feelings bottled up if something has a high public profile.
I'm pretty sure it's easier to keep your mouth shut and your fingers away from the keyboard than it is to actually form the words and announce them.

Hey folks, still looking for open minded people and "family" to come join. Channel is still open and buzzing with chatter, come and join the convo. Send me a EVE-Mail or a private message and I'll send you an invite. (Forgive me if I'm afk when you send me a message, I have a tendancy to wonder away from my comp.) Or, I believe, you can just do a search for "GLBTA" in the channels window and click join.
